Kenneth Eugene Bingham, 86, of Vernon, died Tuesday June 9, in Okla. City, Okla. Funeral will be at The First Assembly of God Church in Vernon at 2 p.m., on Tuesday June 16, with the Rev. Gary Butler of Gospel Lighthouse Church, Anadarko, Okla., and the Rev. Brian Pounds of First Assembly of God Church Vernon, officiating.
Interment will be in Bell Cemetery under direction of Sullivan Funeral Home.
Bingham was born Oct. 7, 1928, on the Bingham Farm in Odell, son of the late Grady Eugene and Thelma Hulete Killett Bingham. He married the late Eva Letha Riddle on Dec. 26, 1947 at the Odell Methodist Church, Odell, Texas.
Bingham, a minister since 1951, attended Bible College in Waxahachie, in 1952. He began ministry as an evangelist in 1955. He pastored Crowell Assembly of God Church from 1956-1964. He pastored the Assembly of God Church in Anadarko, Okla. from 1964-1975. In 1975, Bingham established Gospel Lighthouse Church in Anadarko, Okla., and pastored there until his retirement in 1995. He then moved back to the Bingham Family farm where he lived until 2008. Bingham moved to Vernon in 2008 and resided at 1605 Parker. He was a member of First Assembly of God Church, Vernon.
Surviving are: two sons, Clyde Bingham and wife, Sue, of Chickasha, Okla. and Allen Bingham and wife, Judy, of Decatur; a daughter, Loretta Butler and husband, Gary Butler, of Anadarko, Okla.; a sister, Lola Jolene Adams of Decatur; six grandchildren: Michelle Stevens, Greg Butler, Sara Thrasher, Emily Wilson, Bridget Morris and Rebekah Bray, and 11 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday June 15, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Memorials may be made to Gospel Lighthouse Church Anadarko, Okla. and First Assembly of God Church Vernon.
Pall bearers will be Greg Butler, Ryan Stevens, Gabriel Thrasher, Chance Wilson, Ken Mowery and Jerry Don Bray.
