Angela (Angie) Gomez

Angela (Angie) Gomez, age 92, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at Sweetwater Healthcare Center.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M., Friday, February 19, 2016 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Eric von Atzigen officiating. Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, February 18, 2016 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM.

Angie was born on October 2, 1923 to Candio and Florinda (Gonzalez) Gauna. She married Mike Gomez. She was a lifelong resident of Sweetwater, Texas and worked as a housekeeper for many people before retiring. She was a member of Calvario Baptista Church.

She is survived by one son, Benny Gauna of Bowie, Texas, one daughter, Linda Gonzalez of Sweetwater, Texas, numerous grandchildren and many great grandchildren, three brothers, Manuel Gauna, Raymond Gauna, and Jerry Gauna, four sisters, Mary Lozano, Martha Adies, Elizabeth Loya and Florinda Rodriguez, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Angie was born on October 2, 1923 to Candio and Florinda (Gonzalez) Gauna. She married Mike Gomez. She was a lifelong resident of Sweetwater, Texas. She worked as a housekeeper for many people before retiring. She was a member of Calvario Baptist Church.

She is survived by one son, Benny Gauna of Bowie, Texas; one daughter, Linda Gonzalez of Sweetwater, Texas; numerous grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; three brothers, Manuel Gauna, Raymond Gauna, and Jerry Gauna; four sisters, Mary Lozano, Martha Adies, Elizabeth Loya and Florinda Rodriguez; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Candio and Florinda Gauna; husband, Mike Gomez; son, Florencio Gauna; son-in-law, Rudy Gonzalez; six brothers and three sisters.

Pallbearers will be Travis Gardner, Michael Gonzalez, Andrew Gonzalez, Bradley Gonzalez, Clint Gonzalez, and Mateo Gonzalez.
