Margretta Boswell Vaughn, 93, of Ledbetter, KY passed away at 6:53 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at her residence. She was born in McCracken County, KY. Margretta was a Beautician for 45 years working at the Paducah Dry Beauty Shop, Holt’s Beauty Shop and in 1957 she opened her own beauty shop called Margretta Beauty Bar and retired when she turned 65 years old. She was a member of the Woodlawn Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Margretta enjoyed fishing, golfing, traveling and she adored her family. She was an avid quilter making quilts for her children and grandchildren and she also enjoyed cross stitching and crocheting.
Margretta is survived by her daughter, Talmeth Ann Powell and husband Bill of Ledbetter, KY; son, Dannie Linn Vaughn and wife Wendy of Henderson, KY; grandchildren, Brad Powell and wife Vivian of Glasgow, KY, Mitzi Graham and husband Byron of Alvord, TX, Ann Marie Schymik and husband Brian of Newburg, IN; 7 great grandchildren, 6 step great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren and 12 step great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J. W. Vaughn; granddaughter, Tammy Lynn Powell; 6 sisters, Frances Rose Ellen (Sally) Critchfield, Willie Mae Story, Lora Irene (Lorene) Baccus, Mollie Emma Boswell, Mary Ellen Boswell and Lavora Etta Boswell; brother, Thomas James Edward Boswell. Her parents were Thomas R. Boswell and Lora V. McGregor Boswell.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, June 14, 2015 at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. David Fackler officiating. Burial will follow in the Rosebower Baptist Church Cemetery.
