Peter Allshouse was born somewhere in Eastern Pennsylvania about 1794 (1850 Census). I'm not sure who his parents were. The first record I've found on him is 3/5/1821 where he purchased a vacant tract of land in Beaver (now Center) Township, Union County, PA. There is no record of him selling this land, but, in 1840 he was found living in Clarion, Armstrong, PA. In 1850, he is in Limestone Twp, Clarion Co, PA (more than likely the same area as in 1840). I know his wife was Margaret "?" because of his son William's marriage record. They had five children that I know of: Catharin (Allshouse) Bookwalter c1814, William Allshouse 1830-1894, George Lawrence Allshouse 1832-1899, an unknown daughter 1835 & David Allshouse 1835-1919. Peter's death occured sometime between 1850-1860, probably in Limestone Township, Clarion County.

I came upon Peter Allshouse while researching Catharin Allshouse (my 3rd great grandmother). One of her son's Civil War Pension Records lists William Allshouse of Lowelville OH, David Allshouse of Lawrence County PA & George Allshouse of Pittsburgh as uncles. William Allshouse's Civil War Pension File lists George & David as his brothers. It also makes mention of his birth being in Union County, PA.
