O'Lena Francis Vaughn Smith was born Smithville Tennessee to Robert Lee Vaughn and Alice Marie Bluhm. She was one of seven siblings. She moved with her family from Smithville to Oak ridge where her father and siblings took jobs at the Nuclear Plant. She went to college at Fort Sanders in Knoxville. There she met Donald Edgar Smith. Later they moved to Houston TX and Donald was deployed to Korea for two years. Upon his return they relocated back to Tennessee
Later they returned to Houston and then to Fort Lauderdale FL. A last move brought them back to Tennessee where she took a job at Coffee County Nursing home and worked there for nineteen years.
She enjoyed beach trips, gambling in Vegas and Tunica and loved the Atlanta Braves.
She is survived by one son, three daughters and their husbands, four grandchildren and one great-grandson.
A celebration of Life services will be June 19 2015 at Kilgore Funeral Home. A private burial will be Wednesday 17th at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Tullahoma.
