Ralph Gushwa
Ralph Edward Gushwa, 77, of Caldwell, died Wednesday, July 17, 2002, at a local hospital of natural causes. Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, July 22, 2002, at Canyon Hill Cemetery, Caldwell, with Don Hardenbrook officiating. Services are under the direction of Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. Family and friends are asked to gather at the cemetery.
Ralph was born April 19, 1925 in Willow Springs, Missouri to George and Susie Bridgeford Gushwa. He was raised and educated in Willow Springs. Ralph married Daisy May Hawkins on Nov. 1, 1945 in Caldwell. Together they lived in various areas of the Treasure Valley, finally settling in Caldwell where they have since resided. Ralph served his country in the United States Army from October 1943 until his honorable discharge in October of 1945.
Ralph enjoyed his music very much. He played lead guitar and loved jam sessions with his family and friends. Ralph is survived by his son, Bob Gushwa and his step-daughters, Nandaz Miller and Melissa and Danny Miller; his daughter, Alice Pegram and her companion, Allen White and Alices daughters, Nicole Pegram and fianc, Chad Cristiansen and Kacey and Jacob Hyer and their daughter Delaney Hyer; his son, Joe Gushwa and his children, Katie and husband D.J. McArthur and Luke Gushwa; his sisters, Helen and Winifred; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Lloyd, Lizzie, Bessie, Clarence and Jerry; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Ronnie Gushwa; a brother, Glen Gushwa; and his wife of nearly 55 years, Daisy.
The family suggests that memorials be made to a favorite charity.
Friends may call at Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell, on Sunday from 4-6 p.m.
