WOODS, CARRIE B. 88 Ocala - Carrie B. Woods, 88, of Ocala, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2008 at New Horizon Health and Rehab Center. A native of Florence, Alabama, she came here 19 years ago from Nashville, TN, where she had lived all of her life. Carrie graduated from St. Thomas School of Nursing in Nashville and was a registered nurse until her marriage to her husband, The Late John R. Woods, M.D. in 1943. Dr. Woods passed away Jan. 19, 2001 after 58 years of marriage to Carrie. Mrs. Woods is survived by daughter Charlotte Wright and husband Gary of Ocala; son John Woods, Jr. and wife DeAnne of Kingwood, TX; son Richard Woods and wife Muriel of Atlanta, GA; son Philip Woods and wife Joan of Ocala; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Friends will be received on Wed., March 5, 2008 from 12:30 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Ocala, FL where chapel services will be held at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Dennis Conner officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to your church or the charity of your choice.
