Rev. Joseph Causey was a Methodist minister. He was licensed to preach in 1832. He served as a minister for three terms (1843-1844; 1848; and 1861) at Tabernacle United Methodist Church in Greensboro, NC.

At the annual conference in 1842, he was made Superintendent of the Randolph Circuit with four assistants working under him. In 1852, he was assigned as an assistant to the current superintendent.

Rev. Causey retired from the ministry after the 1861 term.

Rev. Joseph Causey married Mary Rebecca McCulloch on January 4, 1830 in Guilford County.
