Funeral services for William B. Ruehlen,52, of 51 Loma Media, a shoe salesman, who died Saturday in a local hospital after a heart attack, will be tomorrow at 1 p.m. in the chapel of the Haider Mortuary. The Rev. Verne D. Coone will officiate. Private interment in Santa Barbara Cemetery will follow. Mr. Ruehlen had been with Phil's Shoe Store here since 1957, when he came to Santa Barbara from McPherson, Kan. He was born in Little River, Kan., Dec. 12, 1919. He attended Kansas Wesleyan College in Salina, Kan., where he played football and basketball. He was a Marine Corps paratrooper in the South Pacific in World War II. Surviving are his wife, Elsie, at the family home; a brother, Cecil of Lake Charles, La.; four sisters, Mrs. Hazel Stephenson of Lyons, Kan., Mrs. Alice Hodgson of Nacona, Tex., Mrs. Floyd Krehbiel of Midland, Tex., and Mrs. Richard Johnson of Minneapolis, Kan.; and 14 nieces and nephews.
