Sylvia Ellen Boyd, daughter of J. Henry and Bertha Wharton Boyd, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 11, 2015. Sylvia was a graduate of Conrad High School and Beacom College. She was employed by Hercules Incorporated as an Executive Secretary and retired in 1985 with 44 years of service. Sylvia was a longtime member of Christ United Methodist Church in Roselle. She was a life member of the Newark Senior Center and a member of Oak Grove Senior Center.
Sylvia is survived by a wonderful lifelong friend and a group of loving, caring cousins by whom she will be sadly missed.
Services will be held on Monday, June 15, at 1:30 PM at the McCrery and Harra Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE. Interment will be at Silverbrook Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Christ United Methodist Church, 6 North Clifton Avenue, Wilmington, DE 19805.
