Barry Jay Mason passed away peacefully on August 30, 2014.

Son of the late Robert Mason and Ethel Herman Mason. He is survived by his loving family, Uncle Morris Herman and first cousins, Carey Herman (Paul), Sherril Herman, Shelley Herman Gillon (John), Karen Zuckerman Soll (Ed), Fay Zuckerman Parnes, Esther Zuckerman Shaiman, Russ M. Herman (Sandra), M. Shael Herman (Helen), Mark B. Herman, Maury A. Herman, and Fred L. Herman (Amanda).

He attended Nicholls State University where he studied History and Philosophy. He loved music from rock and roll to the classics and was an avid reader who was a deep thinker and loved to engage in religious and philosophical discussions. Barry was employed until his illness at Crazy Lobster Restaurant. He made his career in the restaurant and hotel industries. He was beloved by his fellow workers and will be dearly missed by his family and all who knew him.

Age 63, a native and resident of New Orleans. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Graveside Service on Sunday, August 31, 2014 at 3:00 pm in Chevra Thilim Memorial Park Cemetery, 5000 Iberville St. corner of Iberville and Helena St. New Orleans. Rabbi Robert Loewy Officiating . The family wishes everyone to dress casual. The cousins will act as honorary pallbearers. -
