The marriage of Miss Mary A. Craig and John A. Scieszinski was solemnized at St. Patrick’s church, Feb. 10 the nuptial mass being celebrated by Rev. Father McCormick. The couple will be at home to their friends on the Erickson farm south of Melrose after March 1st.

Mary Agnes Scieszinski, 86, of Melrose died April 6 at St. Joseph’s Mercy Hospital in Centerville.

She was born in Monroe County on May 13, 1895, the daughter of Alexandra and Mary Hurley Craig. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Melrose and of the Altar and Rosary Society.

On February 16, 1926, she married John Scieszinski. He survives. Also surviving are three sons, Ed and Bernard, both of Melrose and Robert of Des Moines; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one sister, Monica Chevlier of Des Moines.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, one grandson, ten brothers and two sisters.

The funeral was 11 a.m. today (Thursday) at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Michael Volkmer and the Rev. George Hoenig officiating. Burial was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Melrose. The rosary was 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Humeston Funeral Home. An open memorial has been established in her name.
