Ronald C. Snider, Sr., age 72, of Erie, died Saturday, July 24, 2010 at Western Reserve Golden Living Center.
He was born in Erie on May 21, 1938, a son of the late Joseph and Henrietta Maichler Snider.
He served in the U.S. Army. He retired from St. Peter's Cathedral after ten years in maintenance.
Ronald loved flea markets and a great deal. He was also a fan of NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt, Sr.
He was preceded in death by a son, Nick Snider; ; a grandson, Ryan Powierza; a sister, Mary Wright; and two brothers, Richard and Robert Snider.
He is survived by his beloved children, Laura Powierza and her husband, Rich of Fairview and Ron Snider and his wife, Yvonne of Richmond, Va.; a daughter-in-law, Michelle Wiley of Waterford; six grandchildren, Jeffrey, Joshua, Mikala and Jake Snider and Jack and John Powierza; two sisters, Margaret Kimmeth and Patricia Dylewski; and two brothers, Norman and Thomas Snider.
Many nieces and nephews also survive.
Friends may call at the Francis V. Kloecker Funeral Home, Inc., 2502 Sassafras Street on Monday from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend a Prayer Service there on Tuesday at 9 a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. at St. Peter's Cathedral with Msgr. William Biebel officiating.
Burial will be at Erie County Memorial Gardens.
