Johnny Claude Gregory, went home to be with the Lord, Friday morning, June 12, 2015 having reached the age of 58 years. He was the son of the late Tommy Gregory & Rachel (Vaughn) Gregory Jones.
He married Barbara Matthews on December 11, 1979 who survives him.
Along with his wife Barbara, his is survived by: 1 daughter Shayla Gregory (son-in-law, Nick Norris); 2 granddaughters, Kaylee Breeann & Kylee Nickole Hodge; 3 sisters, Daisy Feltner, Gleta Jones (husband Rocky), and Pansy Jones; his step-father, Wolford Jones; special in-laws, Tobb Vaughn, Marie Gregory, Roy Lyons, Sylvia (husband Wallace), and Flonnie (husband Mike); along with a host of family and friends who mourn his passing.
He is preceded in death by:1 daughter, Nancy Gregory; 1 son-in-law, Bryan Hodge; his parents, Tommy Gregory and Rachel Jones; 2 brothers, J.C. Gregory and Rexel "Rex" Gregory; and 3 sisters, Ella Mae Gregory, Geneva Gregory, and Cleta Vaughn.
John was an ordained minister and spent a life-time serving his Lord. During his ministry he has served as pastor at Cedar Grove Baptist, New Liberty Baptist, and Wolf Ridge Baptist.
The family will receive friends on Monday, June 15, 2015 after 5pm the Cedar Grove Baptist Church. Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at 2pm Cedar Grove Baptist. Burial will be in the Bud Gregory Cemetery.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to: Johnny Gregory Memorial Fund c/o the Hicks-Vaughn Funeral Home.
