Evelyn was born in Chapin, MI on July 21, 1929, the daughter of Roy Wells & Lula May (Perry) Nethaway. On October 10, 1970 she married Maynard Gardner who predeceased her in 2002. She worked for 30 years for General Motors in Lansing and also farmed and was a homemaker. She enjoyed painting, bowling, golfing and fishing and was a member of Perry Baptist Church.
Evelyn is survived by her children: Christine (Marvin) Helmer of DeWitt, Cheryl Ann (Robert) Hicks of Holt, David (Shelly) Gardner of Morrice, Daniel (Lori) Gardner of Crystal, Donna (Steve) Yauch of Wichita, KA, Deborah (Bob) Geney of Morrice, 19 grandchildren, many great and great great grandchildren, sister Marjorie Gruesbeck of Perry, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers Gerald, Dale and Wells, sisters Bertha and Arlene and her parents. Memorials are suggested to the Hospice House of Shiawassee County.
