CALDWELL—Major Hudgens, 78, of 2320 College avenue, a resident of Canyon county for 35 years, died Friday morning in his home.
Mr. Hudgens was born Oct 21, 1876, in Blount county, Tenn. He was a veteran of the Spanish-American War and was married May 12, 1902, in Terre Haute, Ind., to Okie Pennington and the couple lived in Indiana while he was an engineer for the New York Central railroad. They moved to Roswell in 1919 and to Caldwell in 1927.
He was a member of the United Brethren church in Rose Hill, Ind., and of MacArthur camp in Nampa of United Spanish War Veterans.
Surviving in addition to Mrs. Hudgens are a son, Leland Hudgens of Grandview, Wash.; two daughters, Mrs. Glen Odle of Caldwell and Mrs. Lucille Yadon of Indianapolis, Ind.; three brothers, William and Frank Hudgens, both in Tennessee, and Edward Hudgens in Indiana; two sisters, Mrs. Megie Finger and Mrs. Ann Nipper, both in Tennessee, and five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Peckham-Dakan chapel is arranging services.
