Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at Zion Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Pape Funeral Home and from 12:00 noon until the service time Wednesday at the church. Burial will be at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Jesse and Derek Gabel, David Peters, Brian Menier, Chandler James and Ron Cherek.
Lillian was born on July 12, 1930 in Madrid, IA, the daughter of John L. and Lillian A. (Ashton) Walker. She graduated from Boone High School in 1950.
She married Robert Chandler on January 2, 1951 in Boone, IA; he died in 2007.
Lillian worked as a nurse’s assistant in the OB Department at Mercy Hospital in Clinton for over 30 years, retiring in 1985.
Lillian was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, where she volunteered on many occasions.
She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, retirement luncheons with her co-workers, bowling, playing cards and coffee time with friends. She was known for her magic hands as she would massage expecting mothers at Mercy, who loved her back rubs, as did her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a grandson; a sister, Dorothy; a brother George and a son-in-law, Bill Remrey. Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church.
