Burl Gray and Tryfina/Tryphena Craft were married May 10, 1870 at Sanborn, North Dakota.

The Gray family came to Alberta about 1905. Burl helped to build the first ferry, near Rocky Mtn. House, across the North Saskatchewan River, and was the first ferryman. The first school was in their house, for a time. Tryfina was a mid-wife and did nursing for the neighbors.
