Resident of Los Gatos
Marie Williamson, the daughter of Filomena and Marciano Cainglet, died on June 1st at her home in Los Gatos, following a two year struggle with brain cancer. Marie was 48.
Born in New York, Marie graduated from Clark High School, Westbury, in 1984. Marie's lifelong love of music was nurtured during her childhood. She played violin and was a member of the Long Island Youth Orchestra, one of the oldest youth orchestras in the nation.
A graduate from Columbia College in 1988 with a degree in architecture, Marie worked for firms in New York and California before starting her own consulting firm, MCA Architecture. She specialized in using technology to improve architectural work, adopting computer aided design early in her career.
After marrying Richard Williamson in 2001, she dedicated her life to raising their three children, Camilla, Ian, and Zoe. Marie was warm and soft-spoken, always quick with a smile and a laugh. She was an incredibly thoughtful, articulate, and dedicated woman, deeply committed to her family and to the community. An active volunteer at Hillbrook School, Marie was often seen around campus supporting activities for her children and the broader community. Her warmth, wisdom, and friendship will be missed.
Marie is survived by her parents, husband, children, and siblings Ernestine Breen, Frances Izon, and Mark Cainglet.
Marie's ashes will be buried after a private service at the Los Gatos Memorial Park on June 19th. Friends may attend a celebration of life that will be held at the Williamson family home on June 26th. To assist in planning please let the Williamson family know if you will be attending by sending an RSVP to Richard Williamson. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to American Brain Tumor Association, or other charities dedicated to finding a cure for brain cancer.
