Edith, 69, Brazil, died Thursday morning at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. She was the daughter of William and Clara (Landers) DeFries. She had been a cook at DePauw University and a dispatcher for the Yellow Cab Co. in Greencastle. She was a member of the Greencastle Church of the Nazarene and was currently attending Rock Run Church in Diamond. Survivors include two daughters, Sherry Cavaness, Avon, and Darlene Fisher, Brazil; two sisters, Elizabeth Clark, Fairborn, Ohio, and Neva Belle York, Greencastle; a brother, Clarence DeFries, Corpus Christi, Texas; 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Juanita Poynter and Vivian Cottingin.
