He was an architect associated with Little and Maddox Architects from 1968 to 2003, and then Jim Maddox Architect from 2003 to 2012. He graduated from Western Military Academy in 1957 and graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1963 with both bachelor of science and bachelor of architecture degrees. Jimmy Dan was a member of St. Timothy's Anglican Church in Jonesboro.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Alfred and Ernie Futrell Maddox.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Dollins Maddox of the home, sons, Mark Maddox of Jonesboro and Tim (Cyndi) Maddox of Fayetteville and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held with Heath funeral home in charge of arrangements.
