Professional Wrestler. Rhodes, better known as "The American Dream", was an American former professional wrestler and trainer who worked for the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). Born Virgil Runnels, the son of a plumber, he was billed as "a common man and a working-class hero" who fought many in-ring battles with Ric Flair and his group, the Four Horsemen. Rhodes was a three-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion, a former United States Champion and a multi-time World Tag Team and Six-Man Tag Team Champion. He has also won many regional championships during his wrestling career. He was one of only six men inducted into each of the WWE, WCW, Professional Wrestling, and Wrestling Observer Newsletter Hall of Fame. Rhodes is the father of Dustin "Goldust" Rhodes and Cody "Stardust" Rhodes, both also wrestlers.
