Rex A. Carter, 65, of Cedar Rapids, died June 8, 2015, at his home in Cedar Rapids.

Funeral services will be noon Friday, June 12, by Celebrant Mary Morgan, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Mount Vernon. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.

Visitation will be one hour before the service. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Mechanicsville, Iowa.

Rex Allen Carter was born April 23, 1950, the son of Leonard and Ruth (Sherman) Carter. Rex worked as a press operator for Cryovac. He enjoyed mushroom hunting and was an avid Cubs fan.

Survivors include his children, Kelley and Kyle; stepdaughter, RanDee (Tom) Hupp; sisters-in-law, Nancy and Betty Carter; and many nieces and nephews.

Rex was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, James and Gary Carter.
