Eli made the mature decision to become an organ donor after his dad was diagnosed with Esophageal cancer. As young as he was because of his selfless decision he was able to give the gift of his heart valves, skin and muscle tissue to burn victims, his beautiful eyes and, best of all, bone for bone cancer patients. With just these gifts he will touch the lives of many and live on through them.
Eli is the son of the late Chris "Chunky" Butler and Christy Butler. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Herman "Fuzzy" Butler.
Survivors include his brother Joseph Butler and honorary brother Garrett Furr both of Villa Rica; Grandparents Eula Butler of Carrollton, Lamar and Diane McGatha of Villa Rica; aunts, uncles and cousins.
Eli’s family asks each person attending the visitation and funeral service to wear the red and black Georgia Bulldog colors or the Temple Middle School black and gold in honor of Eli’s favorite teams.
Funeral Services will be conducted, June 14, 2015, 2 p.m. at Happy Valley Baptist Church in Villa Rica, Georgia.
Interment will follow at Melrose Hills Memorial Cemetery. Temple Middle School students will serve as pallbearers.
J Collins Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Teen Dies in ATV Accident
A 15-year-old who would have started high school this August died from injuries sustained in a four-wheeler accident off Anneewakee Road last Sunday afternoon.
The family of Christopher Eli Butler, who went by his middle name, chose Wednesday evening to take the teenager off life support, four days after the accident that landed him in Grady Memorial Hospital with spinal and brain injuries.
Keith Tyson, whose 16-year-old son was riding four-wheelers near the power lines with Butler and others, said circumstances led to at least one of the vehicles being flipped out onto the road.
“My son was able to be revived but (Butler) was non-responsive so they had to call a life flight out and flew him to Grady,” Tyson said. “(Butler) had severe head trauma and (emergency personnel) tried to release the pressure by some procedure they did, but everything they did they couldn’t revive him, so he was found to be brain dead. … Their family is very distraught right now.”
