ANADARKO Leann Parker-Smith, 51, of Anadarko, went to her heavenly home Tuesday, June 9, 2015, in Lawton, with her family by her side.
All- night wake service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 11, 2015, at Apache Reformed Church.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June, 12, 2015, at Comanche Community Center with Donna Pewo officiating at both services.
Burial will be at Cache Creek Cemetery, west of Apache, under direction of Comanche Nation Funeral Home.
Leann was born Jan. 24, 1964, in Dallas, to Lester "Tinker" Parker Sr. and Glenda Pewo Mendez. She was raised by Edgar "Butch" and Roberta Pewo Toehay. She grew up in Apache and graduated from Apache High School in 1983. She recently attended Caddo-Kiowa Vo-tech in Fort Cobb and received her Certified Nursing Assistant certification. Leann worked at Comanche Nation Bingo in Lawton from July 1983 to 1992, The Soda Fountain Eatery in 2008, and Comanche Nation Angel Program in 2014.
Leann was a proud member of the Comanche Nation of Oklahoma. She was also of Apache and Kiowa descent, and a member of the Apache Reformed Church. Leann was the great-great-granddaughter of Quanah Parker. Leann lived her life as a wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She enjoyed watching OU football, spending time tending to her garden, spending of time with her family and friends especially her granddaughter, watching her son Andrew play football from grade school to the state championship his senior year. She attended the annual Apache Blackfoot Society Ceremony, attending her family celebration, children and granddaughter's school functions.
Leann is survived by: her husband, Mike Parton, daughter, Katelen Lee "Babygirl" Smith, and granddaughter, Alyssa "Sweetheart" Parker, all of the home; two sons: Travis Parker and companion Charlotte , and Andrew "Bubba" Smith, all of Anadarko; mother, Glenda Pewo-Mendez; six sisters and spouses: Leslie Parker Hernandez and husband Paul, of Lawton; Lenette Parker, of San Antonio; Janice Parker Condulle, of Oklahoma City; Libby Parker, of Oklahoma City; Joanna and Sam Redbone, of Anadarko; and Mary Pewo, of Apache; brother and sister-in-law: Jeffrey and Candy Toehay, of Anadarko; numerous nieces and nephews: Robin Turtle, Jalaine Rivera, Emma "Boone" Haumpy, Daniel Parker, Michelle Carlson, John Carlson, Brian Pahcoddy, Glen Pahcoddy and Crystal Cotter; aunts and uncles: Madeline Soontay, Donald Pewo and Dennis Pewo; and her mom Vivian Komardley.
Leann was preceded in death by: husband, Don Smith; her father, Lester Parker Sr.; brother, Lester Parker Jr.; Dad, Edgar "Butch" Toehay, mom, Roberta Toehay; sister, Jolynne Toehay; sister, Tina Marie Parker; infant twin sisters; grandfather, Wilson Pewo; grandmother, Ethel Eikeahpihoodle Pewo; and grandmother, Ester Parker.
