She was born August 8, 1929 in Syracuse, a daughter of the late William and Clara VanLieu Burgess and was a graduate of Norwich High School. Neva was married to Gerald F. Stevens who died in May 1969. A life lone Norwich area resident, Neva worked for Chenango Memorial Hospital, Dr. Foster, Champion Products, and the Chenango County S.P.C.A. She was a loving mother and grandmother who most enjoyed the times spent with her family. One of her favorite hobbies was gardening.
Surviving are her children, Joan and Dan Bauder of Stuart, Fl.; Cindy Turner of Endicott; Barbara and Jim Fowler of Binghamton; Ann and Joe Coe of Norwich; a sister, Dorothy Rifenburg of Hickory, N.C.; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
