Tommy J. Sanders, 75 of Bolivar, Mo passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at his home in Bolivar.

He was born on October 2, 1939 in Circleville, KS to Jerry H. and Ila N. Hunt Sanders, Sr.

He grew up in the Circleville area, worked for Elmer Heubner during summers while in high school. Moved to Topeka in 1953 and worked at Suttons Grocery Store after school. Tommy graduated from Seaman High School in 1957. He served in U.S. Army Reserves. He worked for Firestone in Topeka and then moved to Ozark, MO and worked at Native Woods, moved to Springfield and worked for Vermillion. Moved to Topeka and worked for Copper Craft for 25 years, where he retired from Copper Craft in 2000.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing for many years. He especially enjoyed watching the Chiefs and all football games and college basketball and football team the Missouri Tigers.

He was married to Betty Cobb and had one son Billy J. Sanders, Sr. He was divorced in 1975.

On April 7, 1978 he married Inez Darlene (Wilson) Cole Sanders and lived in Topeka, KS.

He is survived by his wife Inez Darlene of Bolivar, MO; son Billy J. Sanders, Sr of Springfield, MO; stepchildren Vicky L. Cole of Fulton; Jesse D. Cole and wife Mary of Baytown, TX; grandchildren Billy J. Sanders, Jr and wife Tricia and granddaughter Madyson of Springfield, MO; and Chris Sanders of Springfield, MO; step grandchildren Cassidy and Grace Cole of Baytown, TX; Jeff and Katie Mix of Springfield, MO; and step great-grandchildren Andre and Taylor Mix of Springfield, Mo; sister Nellie Larabee of Sabetha, KS and brother John Sanders, Sr of Holton, KS. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers Walter and Jerry Sanders, Jr; sisters, Sarah E. Richardson and Grace M. Oelke.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Cremation rites are under the direction of Butler Funeral Home, in Bolivar, Missouri.
