Amanda Melvina "Vina" Spears Cole was born in April 1854 in Perry County Arkansas she married James David
"DC"Cole and was the mother of 9 children three daughters and 6 sons. Her parents were Robert A. Spears born in Kentucky and her mother Lavina Elsberry. At the time of her death in 1936 she had 5 of her 9 children still living . Her husband is buried in the Concord cemetery at Ink Arksnas under the name D.C Cole he died in July of 1896 at age 50 of a Heart Attack. At the time of her death she was in the County Hospital and died from diabeties. She was 88 years old. They say she had coal black hair and eyes and Mr. Tucker a historian from Mena Arkansas told she had delivered him over in the Choctaw camp on south west side of Fort Smith and she had delivered many babies there she was a mid wife to the Choctaw women about to give birth. I know she is one of the ones still there and I know she is unmarked. I noticed just before memorial day someone went and put flags on the ones that were marked. They say Vina is marked with a stone rock . She was my Great Great Grandmother.
