William Reed Flint was a twin to George Clifford Flint.
He was educated in Waterville, Maine, San Juan Bautista and went to the Oakland High School in California.
As a young man he went to Fresno County, California, as manager of the Adobe Ranch. He was instrumental in helping Madera County being formed from Fresno County, and was ultimately appointed a commissioner by the governor...thus the start of a political career.
He was loyal and fearless defending measures in which he believed. He served in the 11th District for San Benito, Santa Cruz and San Mateo Counties.
Along with this, he maintained his duties of a rancher at the Rancho San Joaquin/Rancho O'Rosa Morada in San Benito County, California.
He was a life time Mason being a member of the Madera, San Juan Bautista Texas Lodge #46, Fresno, Hollister and Watsonville Lodges. Ultimately he was elected an Honorary Member of the Masonic Veteran Association of the Pacific Coast in December of 1905.
He volunteered with the Tennessee Regiment in The Philippines in the Battle of the Bocane Mountains.
