Obituary
Toledo Blade, March 13-14, 2006
Michele A. Harsanje-Calhoun, 47, of Elmore, Ohio, passed away on March 11, 2006, at Lake Park Hospice surrounded by her loving family, after a long battle with cancer. She was born in Oregon, Ohio on November 3, 1958, to Eugene Donald and Lucille (Lemke) Harsanje, both deceased. On July 14, 1979, in Genoa, Ohio, she married her best friend, Randall Calhoun. She loved traveling with Randall and their favorite destination was the UP in Michigan. Michele worked for 26 years with the State of Ohio at BWC as a claims specialist. Michele was a loving and compassionate woman who never met a person she didn't like. Her laughter was infectious and could brighten anyone's day after hearing it. She enjoyed family and friends and touched many lives. She was passionate about remembering family and friends on all their special occasions with cards and letters. She will be greatly missed. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #712 in Fremont, Ohio.
She is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, Randall Calhoun; sisters, Deborah Pogan, Cynthia (Timothy) Calhoun, and Rebecca Meagher; along with nephews, Thomas and Shawn Meagher, Jeremy and Donald Pogan, and great-nephew, Tommy Meagher.
The family wishes to express special thanks to their extended family; the Don Applegate family, the Michael Dille family, Peg and Russ Krumnow, Karen Calhoun-Baxter, and the entire BWC "family" of friends, who supported Michele during her illness.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m., Wednesday, March 15, 2006, in St. John's United Church of Christ, 1213 Washington St. Genoa, Ohio, followed by interment in the Clay Township Cemetery, Genoa. Family and friends may call at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home, 501 West St. Genoa, from 2-8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 14, 2006.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions, in Michele's name, be to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E. River Rd., Perrysburg, OH 43551, the American Cancer Society, or to the donor's choice. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.walker funeralhomes.com
