The daughter of Eugene and Ada Huggins of Sacramento, CA, Virginia was born in Westwood, CA and grew up in Sacramento. She was a graduate of McClatchy High School, and Sac City College with a degree in music. She loved to sing and sang in the choir at the First Presbyterian Church in Marysville.

She was a devoted wife, married to William Garner for 25 years until his death in 1976, and stayed devoted to him for another 39 years. She was a loving mom who was always there for her two sons, William Garner, Jr. and Michael R. Garner. She helped with Cub Scouts and Little League and dinner was always on the table. She was a loving sister to Barbara Huggins and Jean Becker, and had four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. We will all miss you; until we meet again.
