He was born Feb. 9, 1914, in Kingston, the son of James and Alice Baker Ball.
In 1979 he retired from Union Special Machine Company after 31 years service.
On June 24, 1938, he married Doris Tracy, who survives.
Other survivors are five daughters, Marlene Ball, Mrs. Richard (Janet) Erath, Mrs. Bernard (Nancy) Killian, Mrs. John (Connie) Hutsler Jr. and Mrs. Thomas (Trudy) Jurs, all of Huntley; six sons, Dennis, Mark, Robert and Scott, Huntley, Alan, Lake in the Hills, and Terry, Athens, Wis.; 15 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Sadie Oglesby, Mrs Elmer (Edna) Harting and Mrs. Viola Knaak, Huntley, and Mrs Harold (Leila) Diedrick, Daggett, Mich.; and two brothers, Howard, Union, and Floyd, Truman, Ark.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Rita; and three brothers.
Friends may call Thursday from 3-9 p.m. in the James A. O'Connor Funeral Home, Huntley, where Herbert Eggers will conduct services at 1:30 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Huntley Cemetery.
