Joel R. Larson, 75, Eagle Lake in Gnesen Township, died Thursday in a Duluth hospital. A native of Duluth, he had been a lifelong resident of the area. He had been a baker, and an employee of the Universal Atlas Cement Plant and the Maytag Co. before retiring in 1961. He was a member of the Eagles Aerie 79 and David Wisted-American Legion Post and attended the First Covenant Church of Duluth. Surviving are two brothers, George, in Idaho, and Philip, Effie, Minn., and several nephews. (Obituary published in Duluth, MN on 9/24/1971)
