Barbara A. DRAPER

Barbara (Grimes) Draper was born on September 17th, 1933 to Harley and Pauline Grimes. She was followed five years later by a sister Lavonne Hayes (Grimes). Barbara grew up in the Elk/Chattaroy area graduating from Riverside High School in 1950. She was working in Spokane when she met her future husband, Bob Draper, on the Monroe Street Bridge in August 1952. They got married three months later and had five children. They enjoyed boating, camping vacations, and visiting Bob's relatives in Virginia. Barbara was a wonderful homemaker and an amazing cook. Some of her hobbies included crocheting, gardening, watching feel good movies and listening to a variety of music. She was especially fond of nurturing and loving her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her grandson Tommy Draper, and her husband of 49 years; Bob died in 2002. She is survived by her five children: Chuck (Debbie) Draper, Donna (Terry) Johnson, Cindy (Greg) Geib, Nancy Draper, and Kassie (Brittani) Draper. Grandchildren: Jacy, Jamie, Holly, Heath, Josh, Katie, and Tori, as well as, eight great-grandchildren. A Graveside service will be held on Friday June 12, 2015 at 1:00 PM the Wilbur Cemetery, Wilbur, WA. Memorials may be made to the Wilbur Fire & EMT's or the Wilbur Cemetery.
