Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 30, 2007 at a 2:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial in St. Basil Catholic Church in Judice for Shannon Lynn Comeaux Simon, 35, who passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 28, 2007 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.
Interment will be in St. Basil Catholic Cemetery in Judice.Reverend A. Rex Broussard, Pastor of St. Basil Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services.
Survivors include her husband of twelve years, Kevin L. Simon of Lafayette; one daughter, Jessi Lynn Simon; one son, Cody Jude Simon , both of Lafayette; one step-daughter, Heidi S. Vincent of Crowley; her mother, Daisy Hebert and her husband, Dean of Carencro; her father, Mack Comeaux and his wife, Jolynda of Carencro; two step-grandchildren, Paige and Paisley Vincent; four sisters, Katie Boudreaux of Carencro, Cindy Herpin of Judice, Marsha Smith of Arnaudville and Phoebe Hebert of Carencro; one brother, Joby Hebert; one step-brother, Matt Boyer both of Carencro; and her paternal grandparents, Albert and Annie Comeaux of Cankton.
She was preceded in death by one son, Garret Simon.
A native of Ossun, Louisiana and resident of Lafayette for most of her life, Shannon was a loving wife, mother, step-mother, step-grandmother, daughter, granddaughter, sister and friend to all who knew her.
She was a member of the St. Basil Catholic Church Community in Judice.
Shannon was employed as a hairdresser for Christie Love's in Judice for several years. She enjoyed horses and barrel racing, but her true passion in life was her family, especially her children, whom she adored.
Shannon will be dearly missed not only by family and friends, but by all of those whose lives she has touched throughout the years.
Pallbearers will be Andy Smith, Joby Hebert, Matt Boyer, Nick Vincent, Ryan Broussard, and Troy Hanks.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Kerry Simon and Cody Jude Simon.
A Rosary will be prayed on Sunday evening in Martin & Castille Funeral Home in Lafayette.
The family requests that visitation be observed on Sunday from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM and on Monday from 8:00 AM until time of services.
Martin & Castille Funeral Home of Lafayette, Louisiana was in charge of the arrangements.
