Maggie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister-in-law and mother-in-law. She was a good, kind, caring person who always had a smile. She loved gardening, canning vegetables, planting flowers and mowing the lawn. An avid Kentucky Wildcat basketball fan, at the holidays after the meal she would sit at the kitchen table and talk UK basketball with her grandsons. She loved to fly in airplanes. Maggie worked at the Army Ammunition Plant, Keller's, and then General Electric where she retired in 1991 after 20 years.
Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, J.R. Thomas; two daughters, Brenda Thomas Harrison and Joanne Thomas; and Twin Baby Boys, a sister, Lena Mae Butler, and two brothers, Chet and Dennie Benham.
She is survived by four daughters; Nancy (Chuck) Grosse, Patty (John) Watts, Jill (Angel) Fernandez, and Amy (Will) Dilley; two sons, Jessie Thomas and Tim (Cindy) Thomas; three sisters, Mary (Max) Parrish, Penny Raver, Dorothy Landers; a brother, William Benham; and 14 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, June 12, 2015 at Bethel United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be at Hager Funeral Home from 5-8 PM on Wednesday; from 12:00 Noon-8 PM on Thursday; and at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Friday. Pallbearers will be Jessie Thomas Jr., Blake Thomas, Joshua Scott, Ashton Kelly, Tim Kelly Thomas Jr., and Jessie Ray Watts
