PICKLES GAP
Our community was made sad Saturday when the message went out that Mrs. Margaret Day was dead. She would have 72 years old on February 11, and had lived at Pickles Gap for many years. She was a member of Pickles Gap Church. She leaves four sons, Cal,(William Calvin) Walter(Thomas Walter) Jim (James B.) Ed(Edward Forrest) and three daughters, Mrs. Mary (Mary Jane Day Armstrong Hicks.
note by Dorothy Armstrong Snuggs) Hicks of Guy, Mrs. Della Hallums of Spring Hill, and Mrs. Ella Atkisson, with who she made her home. She also leaves 31 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and a host of friends to mourn her death. All her children were at her bedside. Weep not, friends, for your mother is not dead, but just asleep in Jesus. She was a Christian from her girlhood until God called her home. Rev. E.P.J. Garrott of Conway conducted the funeral service and she was laid to rest in Macedonia Cemetery by the side of her companion. The bereaved have our deepest sympathy.
Mrs Maggie(Day) Butts of Muskogee, and Joe Day of Ft. Smith and Mr and Mrs. William Hallums and Elmer Hallums and family of Little Rock attended their grandmother's funeral.
