Adam T. Wilson age 29, of Manitowoc, and formerly of Two Herman, went to be with His Lord on Friday evening, Sept. 13, 2002 at University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics in Madison, after a long, courageous battle with Cystic Fibrosis. Adam was born April 6, 1973 to Alan and Joanne Wilson in Edina, Minn.
Adam and Jessica Schipp, of Anderson, Ind., were married on July 6, 2002. He was an attorney in Manitowoc for Michael Best & Friedrich LLP, until January 2002, after ending his employment due to his health.
Adam's life was characterized by his love and devotion to His Lord, Jesus Christ. A sinner saved by grace, Adam desired in his heart to know Christ more and more. Living with Cystic Fibrosis was painful and difficult, and he bore much physical pain that few knew about, as he lived to serve others rather than himself. By God's grace he continued to persevere, striving in spite of his physical limitations to proclaim his faith in Christ with others, and lived looking forward to eternity. His sincere desire was that whether in his life or death, Christ would be glorified, and we truly see the way the Lord has used his life in the lives of so many, and in his death as well. Our hearts ache for him, as we miss him so very much, and the present loss will be at times unfathomable.
Nevertheless, how we rejoice to know that he is even now walking with Jesus for all those who call on the name of Christ for forgiveness will, like Adam hear, "Well done good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your Lord." (Matthew 25:21). Thank you, gracious Father, for giving Adam to us as a gift, for using him here as your servant, and for calling your child home.
Adam is survived by his wife, Jessica of Manitowoc; his parents: Alan (Joanne) Wilson of Town Herman, one brother: Benjamin (Julia) Wilson of Mishawaka, Ind., paternal grandparents: Fred (Bernice) Wilson of South Milwaukee, father-in-law: David (Julie) Schipp of Carmel, Ind., mother-in-law, Rebecca (Stan) Novakoski of Anderson, Ind. Adam is further survived by three brothers-in-law: Ethan and Nicholas Schipp of Carmel Ind., and Daniel Novakoski of Noblesville, Ind., and three sisters-in-law: Emily Schipp of Carmel Ind., Bethany (Rob) Owen, of Winter Park, Fla., and Hanna Schipp of Anderson, Ind.
A private graveside service was held on Monday, Sept. 16, 2002, at Salem Ebenezer Reformed Church Cemetery in Newton, with Reverend Kyle Sorensen, pastor, officiating. A Memorial Celebration Service for Adams's going home will also be held at Salem on Sunday, Sept. 21, 2002, at 2 p.m. Reverend Andy Lutz will officiate. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Adam's name. E-mail condolences to zimmerfuneralhome.com. Zimmer Funeral Home of Howards Grove is assisting the family.
