For three long years the members of the Mission House at Franklin have studied theology and have worked together. But now the time has come when all must part in different directions where they are called to preach the Word of God. We give in the following a picture and short sketch of each of the class. K.J. Stuebbe was born in Niew Berta, Holland. When he was but 2 years of age his parents came to Americas with him. They settled at first in Freeport, Ill., later at Monroe, South Dakota. he entered the M.H. at the age of 16. As he was a member of the Holland Ref. church, she soon became a member of our church. So he is planning to go to Waukon, Iowa for his field of work."

Klaus, a Minister of the Gospel, age 28, & his wife, Emma, & their child, were living at R.R. 1 in Wauhon, IA when he registered for the WWI Draft on June 5, 1917. The date & place of his birth was August 31, 1888, Niew Berta, Holland. He claimed an exemption for "Occupation and Support of Family." His physical description was medium height & build, light blue eyes, & dark brown hair. He signed his name "Klaus Johannes Stuebbe." Later records show that he wasn't called to serve.

"FAREWELL PARTY
For Miss Esther Stuebbe, who is leaving to teach school at Bellvedere, Ill., there was a farewell party on Thursday evening at the home of her parents, the Rev. and Mrs. K.J. Stuebbe, in Newton given by the members of the Newton Reformed church choir, which she has directed for several years. For the past four years Miss Stuebbe has been teaching the first four grades at the White Trail school and at Bellvedere she will be in charge of the fifth grade and music.

At the party bunco and other games were played. In bunco the best totals were made by Mrs. Erwin Bruckschen and Raymond Goeke and the low scores were those of miss Edna Hochkammer and Athniel Stuebbe. There were 34 guests present."

"CELEBRATION OF 59TH ANNIVERSARY HELD AT NEWTON
The celebration of the 59th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. E.D. Bosma on Sunday was in the Salem Ebenezer Reformed church of Newton of which their son-in-law, the Rev. K.J. Stuebbe, is the pastor.

After the regular services at the church, the Rev. Mr. Stuebbe gave a short talk and re-blessed the bridal pair. Their daughter, Mrs. S. Pennington and their grandson, Athniel Stuebbe, sang a duet, 'Jesus Lover of my Soul,' and the former also presented 'Perfect Prayer' as a solo number. From their children the couple received a bouquet of carnations, chrysanthemums and snapdragons.

Mr. and Mrs. Bosma were married by the Rev. L. Zenk in New Holstein on Jan. 22, 1884. They lived in New Holstein until 1913, when Mr. Bosma went into business at Milford, Neb. He retired a few years ago and the couple is now spending the winter visiting their three daughters in Wisconsin.

Six of the couple's children are living, the Rev. D.E. Bosma of Baxter, Iowa, who telephoned his congratulations to his parents on Friday; Mrs. K.J. Stuebbe, Newton; Mrs. O. Aggen, Los Angeles, Calif.; Mrs. H. Winkel, Chilton; and Mrs. S. Pennington, Manitowoc."

"PASTOR AND WIFE SURPRISED WITH PARTY ON ANNIVERSARY
On Wednesday evening, the members of the Salem Ebenezer and St. John's Reformed churches in newton, surprised their pastor and his wife, the Rev. and Mrs. K.J. Stuebbe, when they entertained for them at a part in observance of their 30th wedding anniversary.

The evening commenced with church services at the Salem Ebenezer Reformed church, conducted by the Rev. Mr. Schildknecht of Jackson, a friend of the couple. The choir sang a hymn and a duet,'Abide With Me,' was offered by Paul Grosshuesch and Athniel Stuebbe.

After the services a social gather was held at the adjoining school house where the following program was presented: women's quartet, 'Wedding Bells,' . . . A gift was presented to the couple. Later in the evening refreshments were served."

"MISS STUEBBE IS BRIDE TODAY OF ATTORNEY HORN
Miss Esther Stuebbe exchanged marriage vows with Attorney Robert W. Horn, this afternoon during a two o'clock ceremony in Salem Ebenezer Reformed church at Town newton,. Today also marks the 37th wedding anniversary of the bride's parents, the Rev. and Mrs. K.J. Stuebbe, route 3, Manitowoc, and her father officiated at the service.

The bride chose her cousin, Mrs. Ben Pientka of Milwaukee, as her matron of honor, and had two bridesmaids, Mrs. Allan Follett, the bridegroom's sister of Madison, and mrs. A.B. Stuebbe, Michicot, a sister-in-law of the bride. Flower girls were Judith Ann and Carol Stuebbe, the bride's nieces, who came from Sutton, Neb. Robert Stuebbe, a nephew from Garner, Ia., was the ring bearer.

Duties of best man were assumed by Eugene Salter, Milwaukee, a cousin of the bridegroom. Groomsman roles were taken by Allan Follett and A.B. Stuebbe, who also doubled as ushers.

Persons in the church choir sang 'Pilot Me O Savior' and Misses Doris and Dolores Grosshuesch presented 'The Lord's Prayer; as a duet. Mrs. Walter Hoyer was the organist.

Five hundred relatives and friends are attending the reception being held this afternoon on the lawn of the Stuebbe home. Guest, numbering 130 persons, will have supper at the same place.

Following a 10-day honeymoon trip to northern Wisconsin, the newlyweds will be residing in Valders, after July 4. The former Miss Stuebbe is a graduate of Tripp high school at Tripp, S.D., and mission House college. For the past five years, she has taught in Valders, where Attorney Horn is a lawyer and village attorney. He received diplomas from Valders High school and the law school at the University of Wisconsin. The bridegroom, son of Dr. and Mrs. Walter Horn, Valders, also served in Europe during the war."

"NEWTON PASTOR, WIFE HAVE 40TH WEDDING OBSERVANCES
The Rev. and Mrs. K.J. Stuebbe, Newton, celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary last week, and also the 40th anniversary of the Rev. Mr. Stuebbe's ministry was observed.

Actual date of the wedding anniversary is June 24. That evening, the Ladies' Aid Society of the Reformed Church, Newton, and husbands of members had a surprise party in the couple's honor. A branch of a tree had been painted and decorated with money and was presented to the couple.

On Sunday, the entire congregation surprised the celebrants by having a special service during the 10 o'clock worship period. Two sons of the couple, the Rev. Calvin Stuebbe and the Rev. Robert Stuebbe, conducted the service, during which the anthem, 'The Holy City' was sung by the choir. After the service, a pot-luck dinner was served in the schoolhouse basement to the congregation and friends.

During the afternoon, an informal program was held with the Rev. Lorenz Huenemann as master of ceremonies. A special offering that morning was given to the celebrants.

The Rev. Mr. Stuebbe attended Mission House Academy College and Seminary, having graduated from the seminary in 1913. On June 24, he was wed to the former Emma Bosma of new Holstein. Three sons and a daughter are in the family circle. They are Mrs. Robert Horn, Valders, the Rev. Calvin Stuebbe, Sutton, Neb., the Rev. Robert Stuebbe, Bakersfield, Calif., and A. B. Stuebbe, Manitowoc. All were present with their families for the event.

After graduation, the couple moved to Waukon, Ia., where the Rev. Mr. Stuebbe had accepted a call. They were thee more than 15 years and in 1928 moved to Tripp, S.D., where they lived for almost 11 years. In 1939 they came to Newton.

Out-of-county guests at the celebrations included the following: The Rev. and Mrs. Calvin Stuebbe, Judith, Carol, David, Jean and Jan, Sutton, Neb.; the Rev. and Mrs. Robert Stuebbe, Robert, Jon and Joan, Bakersfield, Calif.; the Rev. and Mrs. Lorenz Huenemann, Margaret and Joel, Oostburg; Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Schildknecht, the Rev. T. Schildknect and Norma, Mr and Mrs. Klaus De Buhr, Mrs. Ben Pientka, Dawn and Janet, Milwaukee, and Mr. and Mrs. Herman Winkel, Chilton. The latter is a sister of Mrs. K.J. Stuebbe.

"DR. STUEBBE RELINQUISHES PASTORATE
Newton - The Rev. K.J. Stuebbe, pastor of Salem Ebenezer Reformed Church here for 22 years, has resigned due to ill health.

Dr. and Mrs. Stuebbe, who plan to moved to Valders to make their home with their daughter, Mrs. Robert Horn, were honored at a farewell service Sunday.

The Rev. Chester Ploeger, Garner, Iowa, presented the sermon, the choir sang two selections, and kay Jae and Steven Stuebbe, granchildren of the honored couple, sang 'Rock of Ages.' Farwell talks were given by the Rev. henry Vriesen of Newton, and the Rev. Emil Buehrer of Green Bay. There were a number of congratulatory messages from various congregations. The Stuebbes also were presented with a farewell gift.

SEMINARY GRADUATE
A 1913 graduate of mission House Seminary, Dr. Stuebbe was honored by his alma mater in 1936 when he received an honorary degree of doctor of divinity.

During 48 years as a minister, Dr. Stuebbe served the Salem Reformed Church in Waukon, Iowa, from 1913 to 1928, and the Friedens Reformed Church in Tripp, S.D., from 1828 to 1939. He was named pastor of the Newton church on may 29, 1939.

Mrs. Stuebbe is the former Emma Bosma of new Holstein. The couple was married in June 1913, and has three sons and a daughter, the Rev. Calvin Stuebbe of Aberdeen, S.D. the Revb. Robert Stuebbe of Bakersfield, Calif."

"REV. DR. K.J. STUEBBE
The Rev. Dr. K.J. Stuebbe, 73, Valders, former pastor of Newton Salem Ebenezer Reformed Church, died early today at his home after an illness of about one year.

The funeral service, to be announced Monday will be held at the church at Newton with the Rev. Norman C. Hoeflinger, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

The Farley Funeral Home in Valders is handling the arrangements.

A graduate of Mission House Academy, Mission House College, and Mission House Seminary, Dr. Stuebbe was ordained in June 1913, at Waukon, Iowa, continuing there as pastor until 1928. Dr. Stuebbe served as pastor at Tripp, S.D., from 1928 to 1939 when he was named pastor of the Newton church. He retired last year and moved to Valders in May 1961.

Born in The Netherlands on August 31, 1888, he was a son of the late John and Harmke Stuebbe and married the former Emma Bosma on June 24, 1913, at New Holstein.

Survivors are his widow; three sons, the Rev. Calvin Stuebbe of Aberdeen, S.D., the Rev. Robert Stuebbe of Bakersfield, Calif., Athniel B. a Manitowoc Lincoln high School teacher; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Esther) Horn of Valders; 13 grandchildren, and a brother, Harm, of Zanesville, Ohio."

"FAREWELL PARTY
For Miss Esther Stuebbe, who is leaving to teach school at Bellvedere, Ill., there was a farewell party on Thursday evening at the home of her parents, the Rev. and Mrs. K.J. Stuebbe, in Newton given by the members of the Newton Reformed church choir, which she has directed for several years. For the past four years Miss Stuebbe has been teaching the first four grades at the White Trail school and at Bellvedere she will be in charge of the fifth grade and music.

At the party bunco and other games were played. In bunco the best totals were made by Mrs. Erwin Bruckschen and Raymond Goeke and the low scores were those of miss Edna Hochkammer and Athniel Stuebbe. There were 34 guests present."

"CELEBRATION OF 59TH ANNIVERSARY HELD AT NEWTON
The celebration of the 59th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. E.D. Bosma on Sunday was in the Salem Ebenezer Reformed church of Newton of which their son-in-law, the Rev. K.J. Stuebbe, is the pastor.

After the regular services at the church, the Rev. Mr. Stuebbe gave a short talk and re-blessed the bridal pair. Their daughter, Mrs. S. Pennington and their grandson, Athniel Stuebbe, sang a duet, 'Jesus Lover of my Soul,' and the former also presented 'Perfect Prayer' as a solo number. From their children the couple received a bouquet of carnations, chrysanthemums and snapdragons.

Mr. and Mrs. Bosma were married by the Rev. L. Zenk in New Holstein on Jan. 22, 1884. They lived in New Holstein until 1913, when Mr. Bosma went into business at Milford, Neb. He retired a few years ago and the couple is now spending the winter visiting their three daughters in Wisconsin.

Six of the couple's children are living, the Rev. D.E. Bosma of Baxter, Iowa, who telephoned his congratulations to his parents on Friday; Mrs. K.J. Stuebbe, Newton; Mrs. O. Aggen, Los Angeles, Calif.; Mrs. H. Winkel, Chilton; and Mrs. S. Pennington, Manitowoc."

"PASTOR AND WIFE SURPRISED WITH PARTY ON ANNIVERSARY
On Wednesday evening, the members of the Salem Ebenezer and St. John's Reformed churches in newton, surprised their pastor and his wife, the Rev. and Mrs. K.J. Stuebbe, when they entertained for them at a part in observance of their 30th wedding anniversary.

The evening commenced with church services at the Salem Ebenezer Reformed church, conducted by the Rev. Mr. Schildknecht of Jackson, a friend of the couple. The choir sang a hymn and a duet,'Abide With Me,' was offered by Paul Grosshuesch and Athniel Stuebbe.

After the services a social gather was held at the adjoining school house where the following program was presented: women's quartet, 'Wedding Bells,' . . . A gift was presented to the couple. Later in the evening refreshments were served."

"MISS STUEBBE IS BRIDE TODAY OF ATTORNEY HORN
Miss Esther Stuebbe exchanged marriage vows with Attorney Robert W. Horn, this afternoon during a two o'clock ceremony in Salem Ebenezer Reformed church at Town newton,. Today also marks the 37th wedding anniversary of the bride's parents, the Rev. and Mrs. K.J. Stuebbe, route 3, Manitowoc, and her father officiated at the service.

The bride chose her cousin, Mrs. Ben Pientka of Milwaukee, as her matron of honor, and had two bridesmaids, Mrs. Allan Follett, the bridegroom's sister of Madison, and mrs. A.B. Stuebbe, Michicot, a sister-in-law of the bride. Flower girls were Judith Ann and Carol Stuebbe, the bride's nieces, who came from Sutton, Neb. Robert Stuebbe, a nephew from Garner, Ia., was the ring bearer.

Duties of best man were assumed by Eugene Salter, Milwaukee, a cousin of the bridegroom. Groomsman roles were taken by Allan Follett and A.B. Stuebbe, who also doubled as ushers.

Persons in the church choir sang 'Pilot Me O Savior' and Misses Doris and Dolores Grosshuesch presented 'The Lord's Prayer; as a duet. Mrs. Walter Hoyer was the organist.

Five hundred relatives and friends are attending the reception being held this afternoon on the lawn of the Stuebbe home. Guest, numbering 130 persons, will have supper at the same place.

Following a 10-day honeymoon trip to northern Wisconsin, the newlyweds will be residing in Valders, after July 4. The former Miss Stuebbe is a graduate of Tripp high school at Tripp, S.D., and mission House college. For the past five years, she has taught in Valders, where Attorney Horn is a lawyer and village attorney. He received diplomas from Valders High school and the law school at the University of Wisconsin. The bridegroom, son of Dr. and Mrs. Walter Horn, Valders, also served in Europe during the war."

"NEWTON PASTOR, WIFE HAVE 40TH WEDDING OBSERVANCES
The Rev. and Mrs. K.J. Stuebbe, Newton, celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary last week, and also the 40th anniversary of the Rev. Mr. Stuebbe's ministry was observed.

Actual date of the wedding anniversary is June 24. That evening, the Ladies' Aid Society of the Reformed Church, Newton, and husbands of members had a surprise party in the couple's honor. A branch of a tree had been painted and decorated with money and was presented to the couple.

On Sunday, the entire congregation surprised the celebrants by having a special service during the 10 o'clock worship period. Two sons of the couple, the Rev. Calvin Stuebbe and the Rev. Robert Stuebbe, conducted the service, during which the anthem, 'The Holy City' was sung by the choir. After the service, a pot-luck dinner was served in the schoolhouse basement to the congregation and friends.

During the afternoon, an informal program was held with the Rev. Lorenz Huenemann as master of ceremonies. A special offering that morning was given to the celebrants.

The Rev. Mr. Stuebbe attended Mission House Academy College and Seminary, having graduated from the seminary in 1913. On June 24, he was wed to the former Emma Bosma of new Holstein. Three sons and a daughter are in the family circle. They are Mrs. Robert Horn, Valders, the Rev. Calvin Stuebbe, Sutton, Neb., the Rev. Robert Stuebbe, Bakersfield, Calif., and A. B. Stuebbe, Manitowoc. All were present with their families for the event.

After graduation, the couple moved to Waukon, Ia., where the Rev. Mr. Stuebbe had accepted a call. They were thee more than 15 years and in 1928 moved to Tripp, S.D., where they lived for almost 11 years. In 1939 they came to Newton.

Out-of-county guests at the celebrations included the following: The Rev. and Mrs. Calvin Stuebbe, Judith, Carol, David, Jean and Jan, Sutton, Neb.; the Rev. and Mrs. Robert Stuebbe, Robert, Jon and Joan, Bakersfield, Calif.; the Rev. and Mrs. Lorenz Huenemann, Margaret and Joel, Oostburg; Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Schildknecht, the Rev. T. Schildknect and Norma, Mr and Mrs. Klaus De Buhr, Mrs. Ben Pientka, Dawn and Janet, Milwaukee, and Mr. and Mrs. Herman Winkel, Chilton. The latter is a sister of Mrs. K.J. Stuebbe.

"DR. STUEBBE RELINQUISHES PASTORATE
Newton - The Rev. K.J. Stuebbe, pastor of Salem Ebenezer Reformed Church here for 22 years, has resigned due to ill health.

Dr. and Mrs. Stuebbe, who plan to moved to Valders to make their home with their daughter, Mrs. Robert Horn, were honored at a farewell service Sunday.

The Rev. Chester Ploeger, Garner, Iowa, presented the sermon, the choir sang two selections, and kay Jae and Steven Stuebbe, granchildren of the honored couple, sang 'Rock of Ages.' Farwell talks were given by the Rev. henry Vriesen of Newton, and the Rev. Emil Buehrer of Green Bay. There were a number of congratulatory messages from various congregations. The Stuebbes also were presented with a farewell gift.

SEMINARY GRADUATE
A 1913 graduate of mission House Seminary, Dr. Stuebbe was honored by his alma mater in 1936 when he received an honorary degree of doctor of divinity.

During 48 years as a minister, Dr. Stuebbe served the Salem Reformed Church in Waukon, Iowa, from 1913 to 1928, and the Friedens Reformed Church in Tripp, S.D., from 1828 to 1939. He was named pastor of the Newton church on may 29, 1939.

Mrs. Stuebbe is the former Emma Bosma of new Holstein. The couple was married in June 1913, and has three sons and a daughter, the Rev. Calvin Stuebbe of Aberdeen, S.D. the Revb. Robert Stuebbe of Bakersfield, Calif."

"REV. DR. K.J. STUEBBE
The Rev. Dr. K.J. Stuebbe, 73, Valders, former pastor of Newton Salem Ebenezer Reformed Church, died early today at his home after an illness of about one year.

The funeral service, to be announced Monday will be held at the church at Newton with the Rev. Norman C. Hoeflinger, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

The Farley Funeral Home in Valders is handling the arrangements.

A graduate of Mission House Academy, Mission House College, and Mission House Seminary, Dr. Stuebbe was ordained in June 1913, at Waukon, Iowa, continuing there as pastor until 1928. Dr. Stuebbe served as pastor at Tripp, S.D., from 1928 to 1939 when he was named pastor of the Newton church. He retired last year and moved to Valders in May 1961.

Born in The Netherlands on August 31, 1888, he was a son of the late John and Harmke Stuebbe and married the former Emma Bosma on June 24, 1913, at New Holstein.

Survivors are his widow; three sons, the Rev. Calvin Stuebbe of Aberdeen, S.D., the Rev. Robert Stuebbe of Bakersfield, Calif., Athniel B. a Manitowoc Lincoln high School teacher; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Esther) Horn of Valders; 13 grandchildren, and a brother, Harm, of Zanesville, Ohio."
