Evelyn Staniszewski, 99, Hales Corners, a town of Buena Vista native, died June 9, 2015. Mrs. Staniszewski was born Dec. 23, 1915, in the town of Buena Vista, the ninth of 16 children of the late John and Malvina (Konkol) Palasz. The Palash family was raised on the farm on County Trunk K, which later became the site of Don Smith Sales. She worked in Milwaukee and was married to John Staniszewski in 1938. He preceded her in death. Survivors include one daughter; one son; one brother; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews who live in Portage County. She was preceded in death by nine sisters, Lucy (Nick) Sharafinski, Jenny (Joe) Sharafinski, Gertrude (Barney ) Sharafinski, Susan (Charles Sr.) Sopa, Florence (Howard) Muldoon, Marie Zale/Muerke, Sister Immaculata (Bernice), Caroline (Adolph) Sopa and Delphine (Charles) Weisbrod; and five brothers, Raymond, John Jr., Bernard, Carl and Chester.
