Nicholas Glenn Carter, 31, our beloved son, brother, grandson, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 21, 2012. He now rests with his and our hope and faith to forever with the Lord Jesus Christ, whom he deeply loved. Born January 5, 1981 in Jacksonville, Nick had a great fondness for nearby Little Rock, and the numerous amenities and activities he found happening there. Nick loved to be around people and always wanted to be in the middle of whatever was happening. He loved talking. He loved people. He has a great wit and sense of the irony of life. Nick lived a number of years just above the Big Dam Bridge. I remember him liking just to it "THE BIG DAM BRIDGE!" What Arkansan doesn't like to say it?

Nick attended church of Fellowship Christian Center located in Sherwood and Canvas Community Church located in Little Rock. He could be found at Canvas strumming his bass guitar in the church band, Seventh and Cross, cleverly named, which satisfied Nick. Canvas has a great ministry serving homeless, warming centers, dear to Nick's heart. A recent UALR graduate, Nick aspired to obtain his Master's Degree in Psychology in Austin at the University of Texas, and to use his skills to minister to the homeless and at-risk youth. Nick wanted to make a difference. Week before last, one would find Nick at the animal shelter, visiting puppies. This week, Nick's off to help with The Race for the Cure. Nick has a big heart.

Nick was preceded in death by his grandmother, Adonna Carter, and his aunt, Kathy Ferguson, both of Sherwood, and survived by his father, Marcus Carter of Tampa, Florida; mother, Debra Wilson, and step-father, Andy Wilson of Sherwood; siblings, Lyndsay Moen and Joe Harris of San Antonio and Hallsville, Texas, respectively, and Christi Avalle of Sherwood; and grandparents, John and Mona Moore of Hot Springs, and Glenn and Elaine Carter of Gibsland, Louisiana.

Service celebrating Nicholas' life and homecoming will be held Saturday, October 27, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Fellowship Christian Center located at 306 Brookswood in Sherwood. To sign his guestbook, please visit www.arkansasfuneralcare.com. Arrangements made by Arkansas Funeral Care, Jacksonville.
