RUSH - Leslie Jay Rush, age 62, of Lake Odessa, passed away peacefully June 22, 2011, in his home surrounded by the love of his wife and his family. Les is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Janie (Holley); Son, Kenneth (Heather); two grandchildren, Brittney Ann Ella and Blaise Alexander; his brother, Herbie (Bonnie) Rush and Bonnie (Rush) Robert Warren; along with many loving sister-in-laws; nephews; nieces; and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dallas and Mary Rush. Les graduated from Lakewood High School in 1967 then went on to attend Michigan State University. Upon leaving college, Les stepped out of one door and another opened for him at General Motors main plant in Lansing, where he worked tirelessly before retiring after 32 years. He took one year off to enjoy retirement, and then went to work for Amway Corporation for another 8 years. He retired for the final time in 2010. He enjoyed both tennis and cars as a young man. His 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle SS was his favorite toy in the garage. There was always farming to do with the family as well. Les was a man with faults same as any other, but in God's eyes he will be welcomed when arriving at the gates of Heaven. We will Love and miss this Husband, Father, Brother, and friend dearly. Les would like all contributions go to Pennock Hospice Services of Hastings MI. Memorial will be held at Lakewood United Methodist Church on July 9, 2011 at 11:00 a.m.
