TSGT Jack L. McCoy, US Air Force Retired, died June 6, 2015 in his home in Abilene, Texas.

His graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery, 7457 West Lake Road in Abilene. Visitation is from 5 until 7 PM on Tuesday, June 9 at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 Hwy 277 S. Abilene, TX.

Jack was born on September 8, 1930 in Riverton, Wyoming.

He was the second son of Francis Michael and Edith McCoy.

He enlisted in the USAF in 1948 at the age of 17.

He married Shirley Ann Richerson and they had two daughters, Sherry Marie and Linda Lee. Jack was also blessed with the birth of one son, named Richard Green of England.

In May of 1957, he married Sherry Jeanine Carpenter and had two daughters, Pamela Jean and Rickey Lynn.

In 1968, Jack retired after serving his country for 20 years in the USAF, in such far-away places as Japan, Guam, Alaska, England, Korea, and French Morocco.

He worked as a Business Forms Consultant for 20 years and retired from that career in 1988.

He was a member of The Retired Enlisted Association, The American Legion Post #57, and the Disabled American Veterans.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Edith McCoy, brothers, Francis Michael McCoy, Jr., Michael John McCoy Sr., Patrick Arthur McCoy, sister-in-law Catherine McCoy, niece Cynthia McCoy, his beloved daughter Sherry Marie Yellott, and grandson William Lee Shelley III.

Survivors include his wonderful wife of 57 years, Sherry McCoy of Abilene, children, Linda and Theo Wilson of Lake Limestone, Richard and Jan Green of England, Pamela and William Lee Shelley Jr. of Abilene, Rickey and Desmond Barber of Rogers, AR, also 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
