James "Jimmy" Cross died in Plano, Texas, May 4, 2005, after a brief illness.

He was born July 29, 1929, in Altus and graduated from Ozark Valley School in 1947.

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Dorothy; one son, Gary Adams and wife Carol of Austin Texas; granddaughters Annie and Holly Adams; brother, Roy of Duncan; sisters, Theola Leenhouts of Oklahoma City; Doris Collins of Roswell, N.M.; and Ladell Woodworth of Winston-Salem, N.C. He is also survived by nephews, Mike, Pat, Bill and Stephen; and nieces, Carole, Katie, Mollie, Martha, Rebecca and Patty.

His parents were the late Theo and Janie Cross, longtime Jackson County residents.

He served in the U.S. Air Force as a master sergeant in the early '50s. He retired from AT&T in 1977 having worked for 20 years. Jimmy was a loving and wonderful person who was always kind to everyone, especially older people and children.

Services were held in The Restland Wildwood Chapel, Saturday, May 7, 2005, in Dallas.
