Virle Franklin Haagenson, 69, died of lung cancer Sunday, Jan. 22, at Peace Hospice.

Cremation will take place under the direction of Schnider Funeral Home. At his request, no services are planned.

Virle passed away peacefully and comfortably. He is loved and will be missed dearly by his family.

Virle was the third born to Ester Dagmer Rautio and Edwin A. Haagenson. He was the third born out of eight boys and four girls. Virle was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He grew up in Belt, enjoyed fishing and camping, and his favorite spot to fish was at the bridge in Riceville. He also grew up to be a roofer and a painter, a profession he enjoyed. He also loved reading, especially westerns and history.

Virle is survived by his ex-wife, Linda Haggenson; son Chance Fisher and Vangi, son Jaydee Haagenson, daughter Melody Thompson, son Allen Haagenson and Genie Miller, and nine grandchildren. He also is survived by his brothers Ike and Bobbi Haagenson, Stanley Haagenson, Phillip and Sussie Haagenson, Denise and Junco Haagenson, Steven Haagenson, and Butch and Marlene Haagenson.

Virle was preceded in death by his mother and father; brother Edwin "Bud" Haagenson; and sisters Violet Haagenson, Yvonne Haagenson, Donna Saddler and Marlene Haagenson.

Virle is loved and will be missed dearly by his family.
