Bessie Lillian Feather McAllister, 82, of Jacksonville, died on May 26, 2009. She was born on October 7, 1926 in Griffithville, Arkansas, the daughter of the late, Joseph A. Feather and Mattie Gower Feather. Preceded in death by her loving daughter, Gwendolyn Sue LeMaster; five sisters, Paradine Herkamp, Jewel Guinn, Opal Leehy Guinn, Noma Jones, and Nova Snelson; three brothers, William Feather, Mike Feather and Floyd Feather. She was a member of Maddox Road Baptist Church.
She is survived by her adoring husband of 65 years, Robert Lee McAllister, Sr.; son, Robert Lee (Robby) McAllister, Jr. and wife, Doris; three granddaughters, Kelly Sweeney of Little Rock, Nicole Carter of North Little Rock, and Lee Anne Russell of Cabot; two grandsons, Guy LeMaster of Cabot and Greg McAllister of Denver, CO; and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00am, Saturday, May 30, 2009 at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Chapel, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock, Arkansas 72117, 501-835-3515. Burial will follow at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00pm, Friday, May 29, 2009 at the funeral home.
