Dawn was born in San Francisco on Jan. 12, 1969. At the age of 3, her family moved to Denver. She attended Arvada Christian School and graduated in 1987.
She worked for the federal government and moved around to various places.
In 1997, she moved to Butte where she met her soul mate, Alan Armstrong. She attended Montana Tech for three years and had planned on getting a degree in Library Science when her studies were interrupted by the cancer. All three years she was on the Dean's List.
She is survived by Alan Armstrong; her daughter, Sarah Armstrong and grandson, Eli; her parents, Jay and Alice Paetzel; sister, Heidi Paetzel; nephew, Tim Paetzel; and niece, Zoe Horine.
Services in celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
