B. H. Garner, 75, of Batesville, died Tuesday, July 30, 2002, at his home of heart failure.

Funeral services were held Thursday, August 1, at 11 a.m. at Batesville Presbyterian Church. Rev. Dr. Jon Burnham officiated the service. Burial was in Batesville Magnolia Cemetery. Dickins Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Garner, son of the late Martin and Vinnie Mae Pulliam Garner, was born August 13, 1926, in Tunica. He was the retired administrator for the University of Tennessee Medical School in Memphis, Tennessee. He was a member of the Batesville Presbyterian Church, where he was a deacon and elder. He was also a long time Boy Scout volunteer. He was preceded in death by a sister, Susimae Garner Mize.

Survivors include his wife, Billie Mai Commer Garner of Batesville; three sons, William Frank Garner and Andrew Kendrick Garner, both of Batesville, and Paul Martin Garner of The Woodlands, Texas; a brother, John Frank Garner of Tupelo; and five grandchildren.
