Serial Killer. Born in Mexico, he was known as "The Railway Killer." Between March 23, 1997 and June 15, 1999, Resendiz murdered 15 people, all near railroad tracks. His crime spree spread through the states of Texas, Illinois, Kentucky, and Florida, and he evaded capture by using aliases and fleeing into Mexico or Canada. On June 21, 1999, Resendiz was placed on the FBI's Ten Most Wanted List. He was finally caught less than a month later, when he surrendered to Texas Rangers on a bridge that connected El Paso, Texas, with Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico. After his capture, he was tried and convicted on all charges, and sentenced to die by lethal injection. He was executed at the Huntsville State Prison in Huntsville, Texas. Before his death Resendiz also confessed to at least three other murders, but authorities believe the true number of his victims may never be known.
