Ottis Andrew "Oda" Goodman, 84, of the Daw Road section of Richlands, Va., died Saturday night at a Richlands hospital.

Born in Russell County, Va., he was the son of the late Charlie and Edna Dye Goodman. He had made his home in the Swords Creek and Kents Ridge areas most of his life and was a retired farmer. He was preceded in death by two sons, James Curtis and Clarence Goodman, two brothers and two sisters.

Survivors: wife, Laura Robinette Goodman; daughters, Mrs. Helen Griffith and Jean Simmons, both of Raven, Va., Bonnie Fields of Lebanon, Va., Lillie May Walls of Manassas Park, Va., Velma Hallin and Cathy Goodman, both of Chicago, Ill.; sons, Clyde Goodman of Richlands, Tommy Goodman of Chicago; sisters, Maude Heath and Bertha Williamson, both of Danville, Va., Lucy Gilbert; brothers, Gaines Goodman of Chicago, Ill., Robert Goodman of Pennsylvania, Cecil Goodman of Ohio; sixteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands with the Revs. Ancil Childress and James Salyers officiating and burial in Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Va.
